Our expedition makes it into the national papers (sort of)
In a highly amusing turn of events, we’ve become bit part players in a story that has made it into the national press. It rather makes it sound like we popped up to the Cape for a quick cuppa, but never mind eh? For the record, the cafe was resolutely shut as you’d expect, but we did run into the man who now lives at the Cape and his six springer spaniels (along with plenty of their “deposits”) and in fairness to him he did offer us a cup of tea. We politely declined and continued back down the track which was treacherous with sheet ice.
We ended up camping by an idyllic burn, cooking as the sun set and a beaming half moon rose above the glen. A truly memorable way to end a fantastic trip.
